Through many hoodie products sold recently, TOBI received feedback from customers about how to wash and preserve the hoodie to keep the same quality as the original. That is a difficult question, but don't miss this article because TOBI will share a few tips that will hopefully help you preserve the hoodie for a long time.
- SOAK PRODUCTS IN WARM WATER
- DO NOT USE HIGH STRENGTH BLEACH
- DO NOT WASH WITH HEAVY WEIGHT PRODUCTS
- REMOVE WRINKLES FROM SHIRTS
- USE DESICCANT PACKETS IN CLOSETS
1. SOAK THE PRODUCT IN WARM WATER
When you first buy it, do not wash it immediately but soak it in warm water, this will help your shirt remove dirt as well as make your hoodie cleaner. For colored shirts, avoid leaving wet clothes in the washing machine for a long time, this will make the shirt fade easily.
Especially with TOBI's HOODIE SUEDE products, you need to prepare a woolen towel and dip it in warm water to gently wipe away light stains. For suede fabrics, avoid washing directly with water.
2. DO NOT USE HIGH STRENGTH DETERGENTS
If the shirt has prints, do not pour detergents or strong soaps directly onto the shirt.
To use laundry detergent or cleaning agent effectively, you need to dissolve the appropriate amount of laundry detergent for the amount of clothes to be washed.
Do not use chemicals such as Baking Soda, Oxiclean, Javen… because they will affect the quality of the shirt.
Laundry detergent is a liquid solution that is easily soluble in water. For about 20 pieces of clothing, equivalent to more than 6kg, you should use 1 cap of laundry detergent (about 35ml). Thus, with 1 liter of laundry detergent, you can wash up to 571 different pieces of clothing.
Soak clothes for at least 20 to 30 minutes in the detergent mixture above to ensure that the cleaning molecules penetrate deeply into each fabric fiber as well as help the fragrance from the detergent penetrate deeper.
Wash your clothes as usual. The special thing is that with the current laundry detergents on the market, you can easily use them for both hand washing and machine washing.
3. DO NOT WASH WITH HEAVY WEIGHT PRODUCTS
Washing Hoodies together with jackets made from jeans, leather, khaki, canvas, nylon will cause your Hoodie to lose its shape extremely quickly.
Why is that?
Because when you wash all these products together in the same washing machine, the heavy weight shirts will crumple the thinner and lighter products, causing them to roll and rub against each other, causing the print or shape to lose.
NOW !!!! As mentioned at the beginning, TOBI will guide you on how to wash a suede Hoodie easily if you follow the instructions below:
First you must have a suede Hoodie to practice. If you don't have one, click on the link below:
Step 1: Mix detergent with cold water in the appropriate ratio of 1:1
Step 2: Use a warm towel or brush soaked in the mixed cleaning solution and gently rub on the stains on the surface of the shirt.
Step 3: Turn the leather jacket inside out, then soak the jacket in the solution for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 4: Wash the inner lining of the shirt, then dry or hang to dry in a cool place.
You can also use olive oil instead of detergent. Olive oil often contains many polishing agents, deodorizing agents and effectively prevents mold growth.
4. DO NOT IRON AT HIGH TEMPERATURE
All prints on outerwear are damaged by the impact of fabrics in the washing machine or detergents, but also by the impact of iron temperature.
To remove wrinkles you can apply the following methods:
- Using a dryer, simply sprinkle a little water on the clothes to dampen them, then stretch them out straight, using the dryer from top to bottom. After a few minutes, the wrinkles will disappear.
- Use a little white vinegar and spray it on the wrinkled area of the shirt and wait for it to dry, the wrinkles will automatically disappear (note that the white vinegar formula for this method is 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water).
- When using the dryer mode of the washing machine, when putting clothes in the dryer, use a damp towel. The heat of the dryer combined with the moisture of the towel will straighten the wrinkles on your clothes. Just remember to hang the clothes up as soon as the dryer signals that the drying process is complete, however, this is not a very useful method because the heat of the dryer can directly affect your print and can cause damage to the print.
5. USE DESICCANT PACKETS IN THE CLOSET
Using desiccant packets is now so popular with the humid climate in Vietnam that it can cause mold in your wardrobe and also lead to skin diseases.
There are many types on the market that can make you confused. Below I share with you the types of desiccant packets that are highly appreciated by users and some experience to choose the right product.
