HANG CLOTHES WITH HOOKS
1. CLEAN CLOTHES:
The first step to preserving your clothes is to clean them before storing them in the closet. Any dirt left on your clothes can attract bed bugs and even harmful mold.
Furthermore, the longer stains are left, the harder they are to remove. So wash your clothes before storing them in the closet until next winter.
Cleaning a jacket depends on the material and style of each jacket.
Note that products made of materials such as silk, wool, felt, pure cotton, etc. must be washed by hand to best preserve the product's shape or you can choose dry cleaning.
Here are the steps to hand wash materials that cannot be washed in a washing machine:
Step 1: Wash clothes with clean water
In this step, you put water in the washing basin, then take the sorted clothes and put them in each basin to wet before washing with soap.
Step 2: Wash clothes with soap
After wetting the clothes, take them out. Then add water and detergent to dissolve the detergent and soak the clothes for about 10 minutes before washing. At this step, you can use your hands to gently rub the dirty areas of the clothes. Do not use a brush to scrub the clothes hard.
Step 3: Rinse with clean water
After washing clothes with soap, rinse them with clean water. You can rinse about 2 to 3 times to make sure there is no more detergent left in the clothes.
Step 4: Soak clothes with fabric softener
Once the clothes have been rinsed of soap, the next step is to put water in the washing basin, then add fabric softener to the basin, stir well to dissolve the softener in the water. Soak the clothes for about 15 minutes, then take them out and hang them to dry. The softener will help soften the fibers on the clothes, give the clothes a scent and help limit fading extremely well.
Step 5: Dry clothes
You take out the clothes and wring out the water, then turn them inside out and hang them on a clothes hanger, bring them to a dry place with enough sunlight to dry. Limit drying clothes in direct sunlight because it will cause the clothes to fade easily and quickly deteriorate. Also, do not dry clothes indoors, in damp places, or in unsanitary places because it will cause harmful bacteria to affect the clothes. At the same time, do not leave clothes in the sun for too long.
2. CHOOSE A SUITABLE STORAGE LOCATION:
Choosing the space and location to store clothes is also one of the important decisions you have to make.
A clean, dry location with adequate lighting is better than a dark, dusty one.
In particular, you should avoid storing clothes in spaces that are too dark because that is the ideal environment for the growth of mold and nasty bacteria.
During your free time, you should also take the time to clean and sanitize these areas to ensure your coats are always in the best condition.
3. CLASSIFY SHIRTS PROPERLY:
Most coats need to be hung properly.
However, with some special types of coats such as wool coats, parkas, and soft velvet coats, they need to be carefully folded along the creases and seams to avoid wrinkling and fabric loss.
Also, you shouldn't cram too many coats into one small space.
Lack of space for coats can lead to them becoming wrinkled and out of shape when you pull them out of the closet later.
4. USE SPECIALIZED BAGS:
Not only do bags keep your clothes safe from mold and bugs, they can also save you space in your closet.
The best choice for you is vacuum bags.
They will help to absorb air and moisture to prevent clothes from being attacked by mold and bacteria.
Not only that, it also helps you save maximum space compared to other regular plastic bags.
Choose cloth bags and pillowcases to store clothes. Wrapping clothes in plastic bags can lead to moisture remaining in the fabric, creating ideal conditions for mold to thrive.
5. HANG CLOTHES WITH HOOKS:
To keep you warm in the cold winter, your coats are usually made of thick, warm materials. This means you need to find a sturdy hanger for your coats to ensure they stay in place and keep their shape.
You should not choose plastic hangers or thin hangers, but instead choose wooden hangers.
